Timeless Beauty, Alfa Romeo Brera Designed in 2002 - Not The Best But The Sexiest Car Ever Made ?

ttystikk

That's gorgeous, especially for a small hot hatch style coupe.

bacon8

It is not a small hot hatch though. The Golf GTI at the time (which can be considered a normal sized hot hatch) was taller, but significantly shorter and narrower than the Brera.

ttystikk

Fascinating. It's hard to tell proportions in pictures sometimes.

Netsurfer_x1

The Brera is nice, but I wish they'd never killed the GT.

My wife had one for something like four years, we just sold it early in 2020. That was one of the best cars we've ever owned. The 3.2 and 4wd systems worked great and gave it a lovely, powerful feel. Combined with a great gearbox it was a joy to drive, and we took it road tripping A LOT. Almost never went wrong, never ever expensive to fix or maintain, always made you happy, and my god look at it.....

GrilledAbortionMeat

Sexiest car is a stretch. It easily wins hottest hatch of all time though.

mellogello14

No that's the lancia delta.

Brno_Mrmi

Nope, that's the Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint.

Spanjeweg_8

Had a mate who sold hers 13 years ago to buy a house, she's regretted it every week.

sarcastosaurus

Must be really comfortable to sleep in

Spanjeweg_8

Can't race a house.

turBRO44

Looks awesome

TwoOhTwoOh

Love the wheels

khanak

oh my.

3gears1forward

For the money these are the most beautiful full cars per pound in the entire world

Seeker80

Alfa Romeo could definitely stand to bring this back. Just base it on the Giulia, and make it a 3dr hatch. Might even be able to tout it as a shooting brake.

drivemusicnow

https://www.supercars.net/blog/2002-alfa-romeo-brera-concept/ The brera concept was incredible, and it's design language is obvious in many of the Alfa designs in the following 15 years. The interior was incredible too.

Particular_Equal1843

[I also think the Amg gtr is inspired by Alfa Brera.](https://www.google.com/search?q=amg+gtr+back&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwii4uDWvbbwAhW_5rsIHcrICkkQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=amg+gtr+back&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzIECAAQEzIECAAQEzIICAAQBRAeEBMyCAgAEAUQHhATMggIABAFEB4QEzIICAAQBRAeEBMyCAgAEAgQHhATOgQIIxAnOgIIADoECAAQHlCUXVi0YmCBY2gAcAB4AIABb4gBrgOSAQMwLjSYAQCgAQGqAQtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZ8ABAQ&sclient=img&ei=SqCUYKKVHL_N7_UPypGryAQ&bih=722&biw=1536)

cloudybigboss

I love the brera but thats kind of a stretch

drivemusicnow

https://www.supercars.net/blog/2002-alfa-romeo-brera-concept/ check out the concept

cloudybigboss

Yup that's the boi that made me like the brera, too bad the production version didn't have a v8, I like how they didn't go "too" far away from the concept design

nonracistname

If this came out with a V8 it would be an absolute monster. I'm not sure how much of an enthusiast car they're considered, but with that V8, I feel like it would've gone down in history with some other hot hatch legends. On another note, what V8 hot hatches are there? I'm struggling to even think of one. Edit: after looking into it a little, there are none. I wasn't sure if there would be but thought maybe one company was crazy enough. Closest thing I could find was Jeremy Clarkson driving a W12 Golf concept. It couldn't steer for shit

Netsurfer_x1

Don't forget about the Clio V6 RS!

nonracistname

It's a cool hot hatch but I'm talking about if there were any V8's. There's plenty of V6's

nonracistname

Um

HopefullyEveryone

There's a semblance, but the AMG gtr has similar design language to other mercedes models

nosboss5

My eyes will forever be set on any s-chassis Nissan, I'm sorry
