ok so i couldn't help myself, I put together a colour map of how i see your colours for fun: https://imgur.com/wgYDqy8

Those are beautiful shades!!! Thank you very much for doing this!!! 🥰❤️

Initial thoughts: So I feel like you could wear most greys & grey-blues; maybe all lilacs, soft, light or dark; muted deeper plum & mauve tones; airy icy greens to dark grey-greens; pale millennial pinks; cool taupes; and this is just my personal opinion which will be disagreed with by seasonal purists: I believe black and white might look really effective on you from a style perspective as I think it brings out a very intriguing essence, emphasising your unique & interesting facial qualities. I think you should avoid all saturated hues, your brightest tones maybe being a medium slightly muted teal, or a rich yet subdued grape tone.

TheatricalSoul

Thank you very very much for your detailed and interesting explanation. I'm tired of demonizing black, because it's the color I wear the most, and I was afraid to dye my hair black because I didn't wanted to look sick and washed out, so this is good to hear. So, what are you saying is that I could pull-off colors on the light summer and winter palette?

Pegaret

I would call you technically a summer, which isn't "supposed" to wear black, but sometimes a person has other qualities that make black very interesting for them? I'm intrigued to see how black hair works on you!! Personally I don't feel the need to work within a seasonal framework, I just see a person's unique beauty and try to find colours that harmonise with that. To me, there is this mysterious shadowy silvery grey/purple thread of mystery in your appearance that I think should be drawn out by a cold, gloomy desaturated palette which to me includes black and white.

TheatricalSoul

Wow, that sounds really good, I think that point of view is very fascinating. And hear all that about my essence makes me feel really good, i'm not gonna lie lol. Right now I have my head shaved, but I'm definetly going to try black hair. Thanks!!

Pegaret

haha well I don't know if you have visited r/DressForYourBody at all, but you look like a prime "Oneiric Essence" kinda person if you are interested in that sorta thing: [First Post on Oneiric Essence](https://redd.it/mwhrw4) [Second Post](https://redd.it/njta44)

Pegaret

also, just have to put a word in for your natural hair colour though, its stunning!

TheatricalSoul

Thank uuuuu 🥰

subversivepersimmon

I agree with this. The closest seasons would be soft, cool summer and cool winter, but everybody is unique!

TheatricalSoul

Yes, what stills confusing me is that I've read "True Winters can handle and look better in highly contrasting colours". Well, I've had my hair dyed with a very hight contrasting deep red and I felt like... damn, I like how it brings light on my face. And people told me things like "this color contrasting to your features looks so good"...., etc.... https://www.reddit.com/r/SoftDramatics/comments/knctvs/okay\_2\_things\_1\_im\_a\_bright\_spring\_soft\_dramatics/ P.S.; as you can read, in that period I thought I was a Bright Spring. That color would be more on the True summer or in the True winter side?

Lagom88

My guess is cool summer. Also, the hair color you had as a child is probably not your natural hair color now. I was light platinum blonde until 16 and then it started to darken gradually. Now I'm more of a dark blonde, which I suppose is the case for most of us who were very blonde as children.

TheatricalSoul

Yes, my natural hair color is a very dark Blonde/clear Brown, as you can see if you compare both pictures. Mine was golden blonde for a very short time, because I guess the harsh water and the conditions here where I live were too agressive, and at 10 years old it was darker and way less shiny. Also a lot of people in my family who born being Blonde and their hair ended up being black, sometimes a very dark brunette. My mom is one of them, and she uses Blonde dyes, but... I personally think is better to have dark hair, and don't use those dyes because (maybe is just the quiality of the product), but the hair looks so orange. And if you make it cooler with a neutralizer shampoo, I think it looks fake and Lost that natural and ash effect. 🤔

Lagom88

Yes true. I used to dye my hair with golden highlights for a while, which was too warm in hindsight. But I found that my natural hair color, which looks mousy blonde when wearing brighter colors, looks actually a very nice ashy tone of blonde when wearing summer colors (I’m a light summer). I also really like your hair color now, I think it would match very well with cool summer colors.

True summer, cool and muted. I knew it as soon as I saw your eyes. True summer's eyes always remind me of the ocean.

wixkedwitxh

I think cool summer.
